The owners of Del Mar Rendezvous recently inked a restaurant deal at Del Sur Town Center. Location Matters represented the Tenant and Landlord in this transaction.

Bankers Hill will become home to a new gastropub, The Corner Drafthouse, which will no doubt be a success with The Bier Garden of Encinitas’ managing partner at its helm. The 2,700 square foot space, on the corner of Laurel and Fifth, used to occupy French eatery Hexagone, and will now serve a West Coast-influenced menu of shareable plates, salads and entrees along with 70 different local beers, craft cocktails and wine. We attended this month’s Urban Land Institute (ULI) San Diego-Tijuana Chapter’s breakfast at San Diego’s University Club, which entailed an impressive panel of speakers, including Andrew Malick, Director of Malick Infill Development, Susan Baldwin, Senior Planner of SANDAG and John O’Connor of the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association. Discussions ranged from “fostering authentic developments” to “funding sources available to make projects financially feasible”.

Horton Plaza Park Project Tour |

We had the honor of touring the region’s newest and most exciting 53,000 square foot outdoor venue, Horton Plaza Park. The historic site underwent a $17 million makeover and now includes a Cabrillo arch-style amphitheatre, three food and beverage pavillions with trellised patios and an interactive jet fountain. The tour was set-up through the ULI’s Young Leader Group.
