June 2020
Greetings, Friends!
The restaurant community saw some signs of hope this past month, which has left many of us feeling more optimistic towards June and the summer months ahead. Even though dining out looks much different, many restaurants are happy to safely see patrons faces again, even if they are covered with a mask. We encourage everyone to do what they can to support our San Diego restaurant community while keeping health and safety top of mind. Location Matters continues to act as a resource, provide support to our clients, and even in trying times like these, look out for opportunities.

Who Will Survive and Who May Not in the Post-COVID Restaurant World
In The News
Location Matters’ Mike Spilky and several San Diego restaurateurs weighed in on the new normal of restaurant dining in a recent San Diego Union Tribune article. After a two-month shutdown, some restaurants are ecstatic to re-open their doors as soon as possible, while others are hesitant to rush into serving half capacity with a masked wait staff. For some, San Diego weather paired with encouraged patio seating will be a recipe for success, while others who lack outdoor seating and have to reconfigure their tables under the six-foot-distance rule, struggle to come to terms with the amount each guest will have to bring in, in order to make a profit. Read Mike’s speculation on who will prosper in this new environment and more via the link below in our featured articles.
