Time flies by and we are nearly halfway through the Summer with both the San Diego Fair and Opening Day at the Races in our rearview mirror. Our annual Opening Day party was a smashing success and we are now back in the saddle and hard at work generating new and exciting activity in both the restaurant and retail world. It’s the end of a restaurant era, and a very successful one at that! After 24 years in business, Bernard’O Restaurant in Rancho Bernardo has officially sold. Long-time owner and valued client, Bernard Mougel, retired from the business and turned the location over to the capable hands of a young couple from France, who own several restaurants there. The restaurant has now officially been converted to a more casual bistro named Le Bistro de Louisa. Open 7-days a week, this new dining spot offers a mix of Italian and French menu items for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Mike Spilky represented the Seller and Buyer in this transaction.

The lease was signed with TRC for a spot at the Orchards at Walnut Creek, an upcoming mixed-use project in Walnut Creek, CA. The new development will be a lifestyle center that features the finest architectural and landscaping designs, a state-of-the-art grocery store, retail, and unique outdoor spaces for visitors to enjoy. It’s hard to believe the transformation of the old China Inn building at 877 Hornblend Street in Pacific Beach and we cannot fully express how excited and eager we are to step foot in the new Pueblo restaurant once it officially opens. The menu will offer traditional dishes, derived from the coastal communities of Baja, along with more contemporary chef-driven dishes made with local ingredients. And we’re confident the Happy Hour will be phenomenal. Count us in!

We hosted our sixth annual Opening Day at The Races event on July 15 at our Location Matters headquarters, which conveniently, happens to be walking distance to the racetrack. This year’s party was our best one yet, with guests arriving in full blown opening day attire, enjoying the sun, food, drinks, and great conversation in a vibrant social environment.
