Bird Rock Coffee Roasters Unveils Newest Del Mar Location

In 2018 we announced a long awaited surprise that Bird Rock Coffee Roasters was opening a North County location at 2212 Carmel Valley Road. Their beautifully designed café is now the ideal space to enjoy the Torrey Pines Reserve and lagoon views.

Common Stock Made a Big Splash in Hillcrest

This year the hottest new concept opened for business in the Hillcrest neighborhood. Common Stock has found the perfect balance of being both a casual, reliable eatery and your go-to intimate date night spot.

Chef from Nobu Opens New Sake Bar in Kensington

From the chef of San Diego’s Nobu came a new Japanese concept this year – Tanuki, a coffee bar by day and sake bar by night. We are so happy to have helped find this grand-slam concept their first location!

Mercado Del Barrio Becomes a Culinary Gold Mine

In 2018, we added even more rockstar restaurant tenants to Shea Properties’ Mercado Del Barrio. Local restaurants, Maggie’s Café and Liberty Call Distillery joined the project, and Pho-Bo and Attitude Brewing also opened for business this year.

5351 Adobe Falls Sold to Cohn Restaurant Group

The restaurant building that originally housed Nicolosi’s Italian Restaurant back in the 1950’s was sold for $1,850,000. The Cohn Restaurant Group purchased the building to initially serve as a commissary kitchen; however they plan to transform it into another one of their all-star restaurants.

606 Cassidy Sold – Again!

The sale of 606 Cassidy marks the second time this building has been sold by Location Matters; just over one year ago, Marc Karren represented the previous owner in the sale of this coastal Oceanside property.

Gaslamp’s Beloved Brian’s 24 is Under New Ownership

Cowboy Chicken Opens Their First San Diego Location

Rancho Bernardo Bids Farewell to Le Bistro de Louisa; Welcomes Chicken Charlie’s Table

While Le Bistro de Louisa will be missed, the Rancho Bernardo community had a lot in store for them in 2018 as the famous Chicken Charlie’s unveiled their newest concept, Chicken Charlie’s Table – serving both new dishes and of course some San Diego County Fair classics.

HiroNori Joins San Diego’s Ramen Scene

In 2018 a crazy successful craft ramen concept from Orange County signed a lease at 3803 5th Ave. HiroNori is bound to be one to compete with as they blow the doors off their current locations in Irvine and Long Beach and always leave people wanting more.

In his article, Mike addresses the increasing amount of growth in San Diego’s restaurant options, but just how sustainable will it be?

Giving Back

We feel incredibly fortunate to have such amazing success in 2018, and we feel even more fortunate to be able to give back as a team. In the spirit of gratitude, we headed downtown to the San Diego Rescue Mission, where we served dinner in the dining hall. It was a meaningful experience for all of us, and we have no doubt we will be back to volunteer again soon. We hope others will too!
