Airport Plans Iconic Restaurant Atop Rental Car Center – Times of San Diego
posted underSan Diego International Airport officials are looking for a restaurateur to create an iconic eatery atop the new $316 million rental car facility under construction.
When open in early 2016, the restaurant will offer views of the airport runway, the city’s skyline, the bay and marinas.
“This is a generational opportunity to be the restaurant we all talk about for the next 30 years; a sustainable place to woo your out-of-town guests, have a date night, or even a power lunch,” said Michael Spilky, president of Location Matters, the company hired by the airport to lease the unique space.
The venue totals 7,900 square feet, will contain 180 feet of floor-to-ceiling frontage, and have a flexible layout with outdoor patio seating. An exclusive elevator will take patrons to the restaurant’s entry.
